The next day we decided to hire a Go-Car, asmall yellow one gear 'car 'which you can negoatiate the city by using its GPS. Pat was terrified! But it was fine - we ended up doing quite a few miles around the place , driving thorugh Haight- Ashbury, Golden Gate Park etc etc
Sunday, was a beautiful sunny day so we sailed around Alcatraz and under the golden gate bridge.
then in the evening, we met up with Ericha who took us to the top of the Hilton for a fantastic view and a great meal!
Monday we hired our car a Pontiac and drove to Yosemite.
We had two full days there staying in a tent which you could stand up in and indeed it had electricity. Thats my sort of camping!
After Yosemite, it was down to Death Valley.
What an awe inspiring place! Temperatures were 104F and it was still 90 degrees as we found our place at Furnace Creek Ranch.
Next day, though it was on again, to Vegas to see the 'Love' show from the Cirque De Soleil. All done to the music of the Beatles, we found this to be one of the best shows we'd ever seen!
A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
From there it was a drive to Williams along Route 66!
(well part of the way). We liked Williams, but that was a base for visiting the Grand Canyon - Pat's first trip there. We spent the day travelling up and down in the shuttle buses.
From there it was a most amazing drive to Utah , to Bryce Canyon.
This we found to be one of the most amaxing canyons of all! You can walk down easily to the Canyon floor. We even got up at 5.30 am to watch the sunrise which lights up the red rock in a very picturesque way.
We stayed in a log cabin on the Rubys Inn Campsite.
From there it was on to Zion - again awe inspiring scenery! Then we had nothing planned - so we did an enormous drive back to California stopping off on the way at Peggy's Sues
a 50 's diner in the middle of nowhere.
W found a place on the Pacific Coast for the night and spent the next day driving the Pacific Highway , stopping off at Big Sur and ending up at Monterey.
We did the 17 mile scenic drive visiting Carmel and Pacific grove along the way. Our last day was Half Moon Bay to return to the UK the next day. what a fab time.

Looks like an awesome time was had. I spend a lot of time in the bay area. Pacific Grove also has one of the best municipal golf courses in the nation.
Nice shots!
Thanks for writing this.
