Pat's sugarcraft cake

So this is the cake Pat baked as part of her Sugarcraft course. It had to be inspired by something and this is inspired by a poem written by Patience Strong. Note the spaggetti willow trees painted in gold! The handmade swallows are on wires and the babe on the bank looks good enough to eat.

RIVERSIDE REVERIE BY PATIENCE STRONG
Watching how the swallows skim with swiftness and with grace
Where the branches of the weeping willows interlace
Noting how the rushes quiver in the restless breeze
How the rays of golden light are sifted through the trees
Lulled into contentment by the water flowing by
Underneath the lovely ceiling of a quiet sky
Resting by the riverside -lifes problems pass away-
And fade like mists into the peace and beauty of the day
