Mary Poppins Prince Edward Theatre.
So as part of Pats Xmas present we went to see Mary Poppins, just two days after it opened at the Prince Edward Theatre, Soho. I have to say, it was one of the best productions I had ever seen -even though you may consider it to be a childrens show. In fact, it is far more adult that the Disney film, being closer to the original books by P.L. Travers but it still contains the songs you all know even if you haven't seen thefilm - SUPERCALAFRAGALISTICEXPIALDADOUCOUS - haven't checked the spelling and 'Feed the Birds' to name but two. There are new songs added which fit in seemlessly too. If you like magic, then this is a show to see as theres plenty of it in the stage production and of course Mary Poppins flies and Bert (the chimney sweep) dances up the walls and across the ceiling. And how did she produce all those objects from her carpet bag? Anyway, its all sold out for months but well worth going if you fancy a night out.
